9. DISASTER MANAGEMENT

The aim of this small section is to coordinate private donations to INI RADEF into transparent activities to assist emergency and disaster situations through partners

INI RADEF opened this section after donations came to us from all over the world after the Tsunami in North Sumatra in December 2004. The main activities supported were

support for orphans through The CHURCH of BALI who have developed an orphanage in Medan North Sumatra to serve orphans from the island of Nias
assist in funding for a boat building enterprise on Nisa island through our partner LEAP
Working with several donors Stanford Alumni and Grace Lutheran Church (USA), Bukit Doa Church Bali, Strasbourg and Vienna International Churches (Europe) and many Private Donors INI RADEF is involved in the management of a poverty alleviation project in west Timor called “Save a Village” This aims to remove the poverty cycle for units of 20 families in Enoneontes using a combination of donations of rice, water irrigation and soil erosion prevention techniques, poultry production and development of a local weaving industry.
